DAVE ROOTS ANNUAL MEMORIAL RUN – FRIDAY 4th OCTOBER 6:30PM
Dave Roots was a much loved friend and active member of Run Sandymoor who sadly lost his life on 16th May 2018.
To keep Dave’s memory alive, every year we hold a fundraising event which consists of 5K and 10K runs starting and ending in the Evenwood followed by chip barms, a raffle and no doubt a drink or two.
We will meet in the car park and there will be run leaders for both routes (no need to commit to a distance now, just decide on the night). Please wear as much neon as you dare, ie RS tops, wigs, tutus, whatever takes your fancy.
After discussion with Dave’s parents, Keith and Pat, all proceeds this year will be split between MIND and Halton Haven.
As well as the raffle we will also be doing the draw for the RS London Marathon place for those of you who were unlucky in the ballot (please bring along your rejection email).
Previous years have been unbelievably well attended (maybe not unbelievable as our members always step up with their support), so I’ve no doubt we will repeat it this year.
We are also looking for donations for raffle prizes so anything you can spare will be gratefully received. Please contact either myself or Louise Amanda McAdam if you have anything to donate.
The cost is £10 per person which includes chip barms in the pub and bottled water and no doubt a choc or two both before and after the runs. Also, you don’t have to run at all, just come along and support these worthy causes. If you are unable to join us on the night then any donations will be gratefully received.
